STONEFIRE Grill raised nearly $13,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Southern California at the recent grand opening of its Pasadena restaurant thanks to a unique fundraiser. While guests enjoyed everything on the menu at no cost, they were encouraged to leave generous tips that were then matched by STONEFIRE Grill. From BBQ tri tip, grilled lemon-garlic chicken breast and gourmet pizzas to baby back ribs, entrée salads and garlic bread sticks, guests – approximately 300 of them – enjoyed complimentary meals at Pasadena’s newest dining hotspot then made donations totaling $6,220 – an amount then matched by owner Mary Harrigan, whose nephew, Brendan, lives with cystic fibrosis. She said that in addition to raising funds, she hopes to raise awareness for the condition, which is the most common life-threatening genetic diseases among American youth.
“STONEFIRE Grill has been generous with us in the past and we were happy to have been the beneficiary of the grand opening of their newest restaurant,” said Christopher Mendoza, director of development for the nonprofit. “We are grateful that so many people were so generous with us especially during this time of economic challenges.”
Recently hailed by the “CBS Evening News” for its successful approach to family style dining, STONEFIRE Grill’s newest location is in the Hastings Ranch section of the city (473 North Rosemead Blvd). Heathcote & Associates oversaw the transformation of the site that used to be a Baker’s Square and West End Design Group of Encino oversaw the indoor dining space and patio.
